A special Luminaria ceremony in Kennett one week before the Dunklin County Relay event will honor those who have battled cancer and won, while remembering those friends and family members lost to cancer. The luminaria candle lighting to represent these individuals is scheduled for Friday, April 14th at 9:00 p.m. at the Kennett Courthouse Square.

When you purchase a luminaria, you honor a cancer survivor or someone who has passed from the disease. The luminaries will light the path at the American Cancer Society Luminaria Ceremony as each individual name is read. The names will also be read, and the bags will be set up the following week at the event ceremony in Malden. Anyone desiring to purchase a luminaria may do so by completing and sending the attached form to the return address or purchasing at the Dunklin County Courthouse, Room 204. Each luminaria candle is $5.00.
