Two Greene County Detention Center officers were fired and charged with animal cruelty after a retired K9 officer with the Sheriff’s Department was found dead this month. According to Sheriff Brad Snyder, Ethan Huffstetler and Payton Johnson are charged with two felony counts.
According to Snyder, K9 Bane was found dead on April 14. It’s alleged Bane was left outside on a chain with no access to food, water, or shade.
Snyder says this investigation is ongoing.
