Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Dunklin County recruits, trains and supports volunteers to advocate for the best interests of foster children. Carla Smith has been its director for the last four years and says there’s a real need for more CASA volunteers. Smith says the process starts with an application that can be found on their website.
A big night for CASA is coming up Saturday as they are hosting An Evening with Jerry Ford, featuring the Jerry Ford Combo. That event starts at 6 p.m. at the Opera House. Tickets are $35 and you can get them by calling the CASA office at the Courthouse – 573-717-1000.
