
MEMPHIS – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District is currently undertaking Phases I & II Flood Fight activities.
Phase I along the Mississippi River, on the east side from Tipton County, Tennessee to Coahoma County, Mississippi, and along the west side from the Missouri-Arkansas state line to the White River at the confluence with the Mississippi River.
Phase I activities continue in the northern St. Francis Basin from Stoddard County, Missouri to the Missouri-Arkansas state line.
Phase II flood fight from the confluence of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers near Cairo, Illinois to the Missouri-Arkansas state line on the west side and Tipton County, Tennessee on the east.
Phase II activities are underway along the White River on the shared District boundary with the USACE Little Rock District in White and Woodruff Counties, Arkansas to confluence with the Mississippi River.
Phase II activities begin at the Missouri-Arkansas state line to Lee County, Arkansas.
In Phase I of flood-fighting operations, personnel from USACE Memphis District are deployed to affected regions to monitor federal flood control structures, including levees, flood walls, and pumping stations.
During Phase II flood-fight activations, District personnel provides direct assistance is coordinated closely with state and local authorities and to provide sandbags and pumps if necessary.
