It’s National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Those who man 911 centers are the first of first responders, answering more than 240-million calls each year. The leader of Dunklin County 911 Emergency Services is Rachael Bowles. She said earlier this week her team chose a telecommunicator of the year – Mica Moore.
Moore has been part of the team for two years. I asked her how she got started.
There are 12 dispatchers — 11 full time and 1 part time — at the Justice Center. That includes three from Kennett PD who are moving over from City Hall soon.
