One person died in a house fire in Kennett early Saturday morning. According to KFD, they responded to a medical call in 1000 block of David Drive at approximately 2:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived, there were flames visible from the rear of the home.
The Kennett Fire Department, along with the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office, are investigating.
Update from Fire Chief Lance Davis: Following a thorough investigation, it has been determined that the residential fire resulting in the tragic passing of 74-year-old Mrs. Lynn McNutt was accidental in nature.
Investigators have concluded that the fire originated in the kitchen area. However, the exact cause remains undetermined at this time.
