
Three people died and two were seriously hurt in a traffic crash on Highway 25 just north of Kennett Tuesday. According to the MSHP, the crash happened when a 58 year old Caruthersville man was attempting to pass a vehicle in his SUV and it struck a mini-van head-on, driven by a 77 year old Paragould man.
Both drivers were killed as was a passenger in the SUV, a 27 year old Caruthersville man. Passengers in both vehicles were hurt and taken by Survival Flight to a Memphis hospital.
The crash happened just after 5:30 p.m.
Eighteen people have died in southeast Missouri traffic accidents this year.
