Nationwide, the price of gas is up a nickel from last week. According to AAA, the price today is $3.15. Analysts say even though the price of crude oil remains below $70 a barrel, prices at the pump are going up as more refineries make the seasonal switch to summer-blend gasoline.

The uptick is being seen in our region, too. Missouri’s average price is $2.88, up nine cents from last week. In Arkansas motorists are paying an average of $2.82, seven cents more, and Tennessee’s average is up a dime at $2.80.

If you’re headed across the river, you might want to fill up in Dyer County. It has the cheapest price around here at $2.70.
