One person is in custody following a high speed chase earlier this week in Malden. The PD there reports the incident happened Monday as officers attempted a traffic stop inside the city limits. While briefly stopped, police report a passenger exited the vehicle, then a chase ensued at high speeds.
Malden Police and the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Department pursued the vehicle through Bernie and into Dexter. There the MSHP deployed a stop stick, deflating the vehicle’s tires.
The suspect, Christopher Freukes, has several active warrants and other charges are pending.
