Murder Suspect Makes First Court Appearance

dcjc-2-6

A Kennett man charged with first degree murder made his first court appearance Thursday. 44 year old Tommy Lloyd is accused of killing his mother, 67 year old Linda Lloyd – allegedly shooting her at their home on Lynndale New Year’s Eve.

A probable cause statement shows that Linda Lloyd called another son just after 6 p.m. saying that Tommy Lloyd had a gun to his head. He heard Tommy tell his mother he was sorry and the phone call ended.

When police arrived, Mrs. Lloyd’s body was found on the floor, dead from a gunshot wound. A handgun was recovered from the scene.

Lloyd was out on bond from a possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute charge in Clay County.

Yesterday, Lloyd was arraigned and will be back in court January 16. He’s held with no bond in the DCJC.
