You don’t cut ribbons at new fire stations but a hose. That was done at the end of a ceremony Monday that unveiled the long awaited Fire Station #2 in Kennett. Fire Chief Lance Davis told the large crowd gathered for the event that it had been 62 years since the city had built a new fire station.

During the ceremony, Davis paid tribute to Captain Robert Moore, who died in the line of duty late last year. A coat worn by Captain Moore will be permanently displayed at the new station.
