It was out with the old and in with the new last night at Kennett City Hall. Two meetings of the City Council were held with a swearing in of newly elected city officials between. In his final meeting, Mayor Chancellor Wayne thanked citizens for the opportunity to serve the last four years.

After a brief session with the old Council, Jake Crafton was sworn in as Kennett’s new mayor – followed by the swearing in of new Council members: Lisa Dry in Ward 1, Mark Bryant in Ward 2, Harry Gaddis in Ward 3, and Dennis Pelts in Ward 4. Bill Palmer took the oath for another term representing Ward 5.

When the new Council reconvened, Mayor Crafton said there was much that needed to be done going forward.

Crafton cautioned everyone, however, saying there were no quick fixes to those goals.
