Emily King

Emily King, is a 12-year old, 6th grader at Cooter Elementary School made it to the second round of the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., this week. Her sponsor is Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, MO.
Emily King, was eliminated after attempting to spell “TOILE” (TWAL). Emily was one of 32 spellers out of a total of 291 contestants to be eliminated.
Only forty students remain in the finals which are scheduled to begin this morning. The winner will receive $40,000.
